Google Chrome..

Google Chrome is rocking so far.. Some of the features I like includes

• The Home Page with the mostly visited sites
  
• Usually Firefox highlights the search string in the page. Google Chrome goes one step ahead and shows it in the right hand side browser bar itself.

Rashi & Tosefot

Wonder what these words are about ! refer to Joel's post about Explaining Steve Gilmor. I like the Rashi part of this port, it explains a lot about the terminologies and the bloggers with fame.

Spend some time to read this, am still trying to understand the post completely.

Jillunnu Oru Jodi !

Yesterday, I happened to watch one of this newest shows in Star Vijay named Jillunnu Oru Jodi. Being the first time I'm watching this show, I will give almost 8 out of 10 for this show. The questions that were framed were good inspite of the fact that they are somewhat personal. The anchor Mamathi is doing a good job. The only glitch with this show is the Clippings played inbetween, they often go unrelated to the topic being discussed.

Special kudos to the chief guest couples of yesterday's show. I believe it was Dr.Rajashekar and Mrs. Rajashekar, excellent couple.

Watch the show in Star Vijay everyday (Monday to Thursday I guess) at 10:30 PM.

New Year 2006 !

Ok, this new year was not that a great bash for me.. After a serious of iterations we 8 of us decided to welcome the New Year at The Shelters Beach Resort on the ECR in Chennai. We all went there around 8 PM on the 31st and with a expectation that so much thrill is waiting on the New Year Eve... We got in to the Place to see a group of people listening to a program where a group of people were talking something with a couple of kids on the stage.. Ahh the DJ, and the Program host were horrible.. nothing looked professional... It was like everything was being done by the Hotel People who do not know even the basics of conducting a programme.. that too a New Year Eve.. They served only one particular brand of Beer which I do not even try on Normal days.. ahh.. that is one of the worst I would say.. after getting in, we had no other choice :(

It was then my brothers friends joined us... After their arrival it was like we a couple of my friends (Karuppaiah and Prabhu) entertained the whole group there.. And the New Year was coupled up with Parbhu's Birthday as well.. the only thing which made the night enjoyable was letting loose.. we danced for all type of songs and stepped in to 2K6... Lets hope everything else goes as expected this New Year..

Birth of Spider Web !

Well, I was going through a few of my friends Blogspots ! and thought of making one for me also..

And when I was going through the steps.. It asked me for a user account to login.. I gave one and said continue.. but that brought back to the same screen.. I was searching for what went wrong.. (gosh.. it said you have to agree to the terms and conditions but I have to scroll my window to see that :((). Then I was pushed to the next screen asking for a Title and a URL.. That pretty neat.. asking for our preferences.. I tried having http://spiderweb.blogspot.com, but unfortunately a Japanese had that already.. then I tried http://kashok.blogspot.com.. and it went to the next screen immediately... ok then came the problem.. I was thinking of something innovative to be on my url.. I was not given a back option :-O but I used the tab to go back and tried something else.. (not so lucky) and settled with this again.. but it said.. the URL is already there.. so without even completing my registration.. it went to a place which is checked to avoid others taking up the same URL.. though this will avoid problems.. the end user should be given a back or I would say Google has a good approach of handling this.. it has a option to verify whether the required id is available.. I belive every online account creation should have that !

Atlast I used my browser Back button to get back my URL.. ok the browser saved me.. (btw why do sites have a back provided all the browsers have that inbuilt ! - well thats a different Usablility)

Now why Spider Web ! and not a Elephant Trap ! thats because.. a Spider Web is to catch a prey where as a Elephant Trap to trap someone ... I don like putting someone in my trap.. but was trying to catch people in my web.. not as pray but to give them good thoughts ..
